Rules of Play

 

FIFA rules apply except as modified below:

 

Law 2:  Size 5 Ball

 

Law 3:  Number of Players

·         11 per side, including Keeper. 

·         If one team has fewer than 11 players, opponent is not required to play down.

·         7 players required to start game

 

Law 5:  Referee

·         A Senior Referee will be assigned to each game. No payment is to be made.

 

Law 7:  Duration of Game

·         Teams will play two 30 minute halves with 5 minutes at half time. 

·         Change goals after each half.

·         All players must receive equitable playing time.

·         Substitution at the end of a half, after a goal, on own throw in, goal kick, and in case of injury

 

Law 11:  Offsides will be called

 

Law 12:  Fouls and Misconduct

·         Normal FIFA fouls will be called, including hand balls, off sides, obstruction, pushing, dangerous play

·         Additionally, a "foul" is any play which could possibly result in injury

 

Law 13:  Free Kicks

·         Direct Kicks are allowed when standard FIFA rules dictate.

 

Law 14:  Penalty Kicks

·         Penalty kicks will be awarded for intentional fouls inside the goal box.

 

Law 15:  Throw Ins

·         No rethrows allowed on bad throw in (possession changes to other team)

 

Law 16:  Goal Kick

·         Goal Kicks from 6 yard line

·         Opponents must be outside the box.

·         Ball must travel out of the goal box before it is touched.

·         Goalies may go anywhere in the goal box.

 

Law 18:  Common Sense

·         Opponents and their supporters take opposite sides of the field

·         No parents or coaches behind the Goals

·         Players must wear shinguards and socks. No watches, jewelry, necklaces or earrings may be worn.

·         Keep all instruction and comments POSITIVE.

·         Coaches are responsible for the parents and non-playing team members

 

Law 19:  Red Cards

·         Player or Coach receiving a RED card is disqualified from the game and ineligible for the next game.  Any parent receiving a RED card is ineligible to attend the next two games.

·         A field player who stops a goal using hands will be given a YELLOW card and a PK will be awarded.
